I then shotted extreme close-ups of the paint-brushing in beat with the song. I wanted to really show the colour and for it to be the whole mise-en-scene. I wanted to make clear how she is painting her way out of pain and how she is now turning her black-and-white world to a colourful and joyful one. I then kept adding sporadically the marginal quotes to show the gradual change of feelings.

This is another memory of him. He is specifically at the beach because the lyrics say 'Do you remember the time we were, the time we were by the ocean', so I wanted to show that this was a memory of that.

Towards the end, I added a medium close-up pf him looking away from the girl. I did this to shoe the distance that there is between them from him. She is paying attention to him yet he is looking elsewhere.

I then added straight away another memory of the same place, to show how that was the most memorable moment together as it is one specifically mentioned on the song.

This is the last shot from the letter, which appears right after the 'burning of it' shot. I did this to help the viewer understand that the 'I love you' has now no power whatsoever over her anymore, and she has realised it all.
Note: I haven't added 100% of the shots because of last-minute editing and adding, but this is 95% of the ones present on my production.
